It is  also Panjavi Sharif on this day .. a Monthly Fathia Shairf (Commemoration) for Hazrath Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.A).

The photo’s above show The Chillah of Hazrat Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.A) Behind the Chillah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty (R.A), the Chillah of Hazrat Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.A)(Usmani Chillah) stands with its beautiful building which is surrounded by hills and looks out across the Anasagar lake. Within the Usmani Chillah compound are buried the holy relics of Hazrat Khwaja Usman e Harooni (R.A) , brought from Mecca in 1935 AD, by Nawab Gudri Shah Baba III.

Khwaja Usman Haarooni (R.A)

They were the Spiritual Master/Guide/Murshid of Hz. Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (R.A)

Khwaja Usman Harooni was born in Haroon, which is in Iran. According to some, he was born in 526 AH (1131 AD) and according to others, he was born in 510 AH (1116 AD). He is also known by his nicknames as Abu Noor and Abu Mansur.

When Hzrt Usman Harooni (R.A) was rather young, he came in touch with an absorbed mystic (majzub) by the name of Chirk. This association with Chirk brought about a significant transformation in his life. As a result, the material world lost its charm for him and he decided to embrace a higher moral and spiritual life.

Hzrt Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.A) went to meet Hazrat Haji Sharif Zindani (R.A), a renowned mystic and saint of the Chishti Order, with a request to be enrolled as his spiritual disciple. Khwaja Haji Sharif Zindani (R.A) found him to be a fit person and accepted the request, by placing a four-edged cap upon the head of Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.A).

He then told him that the four-edged cap implied the following four things:

First is the renunciation of this world;
Second is the renunciation of the world hereafter;
Third is the renunciation of the desires of the self;
Fourth is the renunciation of everything other than God.

Hzrt Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.A) spent over thirty years in the company of his spiritual guide. During this period, he was engaged in ascetic practices and prayers. As time passed, he gained many spiritual accomplishments. He was then asked by his spiritual guide to move on and spread the Gospel of Truth.

Travels
Hzrt Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.A) undertook many tours and travels to preach the Gospel of Truth. In the process, he visited many countries and cities. Among them are prominent Bukhara, Baghdad, Falooja, Damascus, Mecca and Madina. During the course of his travels, he performed the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

In almost all cities, he enjoyed the company of renowned sufis and accomplished dervishes. And while on way to Oosh, he met Sheikh Bahauddin of Oosh (R.A) And when he reached Badakshan, he met a saintly man who was one of the attendants of Hazrat Junayd of Baghdad.

He reached Baghdad once again, and there he stayed for a while. During all the travels, he was accompanied by his close and dear spiritual disciple, Khwaja Moinuddin HasSan Chishty, who carried his tiffin basket.

After a while, Hazrat Usman Harroni visited India, during the rule of Sultan Altamish.

Death
Hzrt Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.A) breathed his last on 5th of Shawaal in the year 617 AH (1220 AD). His blessings are still invoked by thousands of people belonging to every strata of society and every school of thought. While his tomb lies in Mecca, there is also a symbol of his strength and source of his blessings at the Usmani Chilla at Ajmer.

Message and teachings
According to Hzrt Khwaja Usman Harooni (R.a) , a great man is one who is endowed with virtues like contentment, sincerity, self-abnegation, self-sacrifice and above all, spirit of renunciation. He said that the ego in a man was an enemy, as it did not allow him to think rationally, act wisely and live happily. He emphasised that unless a man loves human beings, it is impossible for him to love God.

His advice was simple and his message was as simple and that was “Live”.

To exist is one thing but to LIVE another. To exist means to merely breathe, but to live means to keep the welfare of fellow beings uppermost in priority. To live a good life requires a serious effort on one’s own part. No exterior agency, legislation or act can make the man a moral being. Inner discovery is very important.

To help his disciples live a better life, Khwaja Usman Harooni gave discourses at times to guide them towards a better path. Of his many teachings, prominent are:

  • Once the Friend becomes your friend, the whole universe becomes yours. Then it is necessary that you should become unmindful of everything else except the Friend, should ever be with Him and should follow Him faithfully.
  • According to him, the faithful is one who keeps three things dear to his heart: mendicancy, illness and death.
  • It is best to not weep or wail in times of difficulty. In fact, according to the witness of Hazrat Abdullah Ansari, Holy Prophet Mohammed has laid down that the one who weeps and wails in times of trouble and tribulation invites the curse of God upon himself.
  • The one who feeds the hungry is dear to God. God fulfils a thousand wants and frees such a person from hell-fire.
  • He who gives food to a dervish becomes free from all sins.

Urs of Hzrt KHWAJA MUHAMMAD (OR ABU MUHAMMAD BIN ABI AHMAD) R.A 1440 Hijri

Urs will be celebrated on 1st Rajab 1440 ( Saturday 9th March 2019)
Hzrt KHWAJA MUHAMMAD (OR ABU MUHAMMAD BIN ABI AHMAD) R.A
His title was Waliyud Deen or Naasihud Deen. He was a born wali. During his mother’s pregnancy, the sound of Thikrullah could be heard from her body. He was a Syed, being a descendent of Hazrat Hasan Ibne Ali (A.S). He was born in Muharram 331 Hijri. At the time of birth he recited the Kalimah seven times. Even while being breast-fed, he engaged in Thikrullah. In infancy he would raise his eyes upwards to the heavens at the five Salaat times and recite the Kalimah in abundance. When a non-Muslim would come to witness this phenomenon, he would accept Islam. His father had gained the mantle of khilaafate from Khwaja Abu Ahmad.
At the age of 7 he became bay’t and until the age of 12 he lived alone in a room. Every day he fasted. He practiced mujaahadah excessively.
Once at the river bank while he was patching his shawl, the king arrived and gave him a bag full of dinars (gold coins) which Hazrat refused to accept. When the king insisted that he accepts the gift, Hazratt said that accepting gifts was not the way of his seniors, hence he too would not accept. When the king persisted, Hazrat Muhammad turned his gaze to the river and immediately shoals of fish surfaced, each holding a dinar in its mouth. The fish swam towards the river bank where Hazrat was. Hazrat Shaikh said:
“When a man has at his disposal such a vast treasure, what value will he attach to your bag?”
Khwaja Abu Muhammad’s sister too was extremely pious. She was perpetually engrossed in the remembrance of Allah Ta’ala, hence she had no inclination for marriage. Once Khwaja Abu Muhammad said to her:
“Sister, it has been decreed that a son will be born to you. This son will be the Qutbul Aqtaab. Therefore do get married.”
But because of her engrossment in thikrullah, she refused. After a few days she saw in a dream her father giving her the same instruction. Muhammad Sam’an with whom her nikah was destined also saw a similar dream. Even Khwaja Abu Muhammad saw this dream. Finally, the nikah was performed in the morning. Khwaja Abu Yusuf who is the Khalifah of Shaikh Abu Muhammad was born of this union.
At the age of 70 years he was divinely inspired to join Sultan Mahmْood Ghaznawi in the Jihaad against Somnath (in India). Taking a few Mureedeen with, he joined in the battle field.
His Demise
Hazrat Shaikh passed away on the 4th Rabiul Awwal or in the beginning of Rajab in the year 411 Hijri at the age of 80. His grave is in Chishty.
Khwajah Abu Yusuf, Khwaja Muhammad Kaku and Khwaja Ustad Marwan were his khulafaa.

Urs of Hzrt Nizamudin Auliya (R.A) 2018

On 19th Rabi’ al-Thani/ Rabi ul Akhir 1440 Hijri
This is approx Thursday 27th December 2018.
Sultan-ul-Mashaikh, Mehboob-e-Ilahi, Hazrat Shaikh Khwaja Syed Muhammad Nizamuddin Auliya (R.A) (1238 – 3 April 1325), also known as Hazrat Nizamuddin, was a famous Sufi saint of the Chishti Order in the Indian Subcontinent, an order that believed in drawing close to God through renunciation of the world and service to humanity. He is one of the great saints of the Chishti order in India.

“In Allah’s garden you gather roses,
Being drunk with divine mysteries:
Hazrat Mehboob-e-Elahi — the beloved of Allah,
O, how I long for the attar of your company”.

His predecessors were Fariduddin Ganjshakar, Bakhtiyar Kaki and Moinuddin Chishti. In that sequence, they constitute the initial spiritual chain or silsila of the Chisti order, widely prevalent in the Indian subcontinent.

Nizamuddin Auliya, like his predecessors, stressed love as a means of realising God. For him his love of God implied a love of humanity. His vision of the world was marked by a highly evolved sense of secularity and kindness. It is claimed by the 14th century historiographer Ziauddin Barani that his influence on the Muslims of Delhi was such that a paradigm shift was effected in their outlook towards worldly matters. People began to be inclined towards mysticism and prayers and remaining aloof from the world.

Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia (d. 1325 A.D.) represents in many ways the pinnacle of the Chishti Order of the Sufis. Hazrat Baba Farid, his spiritual guide, said to him on appointing him as his successor: “Be like a big tree, so that Allah’s creation, the human beings in their vast multitudes, may find rest and solace under your shadow.” This partly explains why he admitted so many (according to some, including Barani, too many) men into the Chishti order as his disciples. Another reason has been clearly formulated in this way: “History, nonetheless, bears out the wisdom of his open-ended policy . . . To far-flung areas of Uttar Pradesh, Rajastan, Gujarat, Bihar, Bengal and the Deccan, Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia sent able disciples well versed in the Chishti practices, yet sensitive to the needs of the local populace.”

Dargah of Hzrt Nizamuddin Aulia -Delhi, INDIA.

With regard to the Sufi path, Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia taught the following: “For a dervish, three things are necessary. They all begin with an ‘ain’ (an Arabic letter), i.e., Ishq (love), Aql (intelligence) and Ilm (knowledge). Let us discuss these three qualities one by one.
Sufism is, in its essence, the way of love. Love is considered to be a spiritual alchemy by means of which the baser qualities of a human being are transformed into higher ones. In this respect it suffices to say that Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia is known as Mehboob-e-Elahi, the beloved of Allah. Of course the spiritual status of a beloved is much higher than that of a lover.
‘Intelligence’ changed in the hands of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia into wisdom. His wisdom manifested itself in the shape of service to humanity. About him it has been said: “He was not a miracle-monger of the ordinary sort. He never flew in the air or walked on water with dry and motionless feet. His greatness was the greatness of a loving heart; his miracles were the miracles of a deeply sympathetic soul. He could read a man’s inner heart by a glance at his face and spoke the words that brought consolation to a tortured heart.”
About ‘knowledge’, the third faculty of a dervish, it can be said that Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia was one of the greatest scholars of his day.

He wanted to become a Qazi, but gave it all up in his pursuit of inner knowledge. After becoming a Mureed (spiritual disciple) of Hazrat Baba Farid, he lived in extremely poor circumstances. Seeing him, a former friend expressed great surprise as he remembered Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia as one who had begun a very promising career as a scholar. When Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia told all of this to Hazrat Baba Farid, his murshid (spiritual guide) suggested that he should recite the following couplet to his friend:

“You are not my fellow traveller.
Tread your own path
May you be affluent.
And I downtrodden”.

Then Hazrat Baba Farid ordered him to take a tray of food from the kitchen and carry it on his head to his friend. After doing so, he recited the verse. This deeply moved his friend.
One day, someone told a story of a certain saint who expired while slowly repeating the name of Allah. The eyes of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, who was listening to this story, filled with tears and he recited this quatrain:

I come running to the end of Your street,
Tears are washing and washing my cheek.
Union with You — what else can I seek?
My soul I surrender as Your name I repeat.

Death
After an illness of about four months he expired in 725 A.H. (1324 A.D.) and realized seclusion (i.e., was buried) in Ghiyaspur, New Delhi- India) The locality is named after him today.

URS of Hazrat Khwaja Abu Ahmed Abdal Al-Chishty (RA) 1440 Hijri.

On Saturday 22nd December 2018 .

14th Rabi’ al-Thani/ Rabi ul Akhir 1440 Hijri

(Depending on Lunar date of your country).

Whoever remembered Hazrat from the depths of his heart, Became absorbed in the sea of love; He began reciting then, this verse with zeal.

“Salutations to you, Oh Commander of Chishtiya Khwaja Abu Ahmad-king of the both worlds”.

Khwaja Abu Ahmad Abdal Chishti r.a was a great saint and the successor Abu Ishaq, the founder of the Chishtiya Silsilah. They were acknowledge by his contemporaries as an abdal, hence his title ‘Qutab al-Abdal'( The axis of the substitute-saints).

He was the son of Sultan Faransafah, and his lineage is linked to Imam Hussain r.a. His aunt was a saintly woman, and was devoted to Hazrat Khwaja Abu Ishaq r.a. Occasionally the master of the Chishtiya silsilah would partake of meals with her husband at her house. One day he remarked that in the house of her brother (sultan), a very pious child was to be born; he instructed her to go there and ensure that the queen ate no doubtful food during her pregnancy. It was this level of care, even before his birth that contributed greatly to the future wilayah of Khwaja Abu Ahmad r.a.
After his birth, his aunt took it upon herself to raise him, with the result that he used to live more with her than with his parents. Whenever Khwaja Abu Ishaq used to visit the house, he used to remark that he smelt the fragrance of sainthood. At the age of seven, he began to attend the Sama gatherings of his future murshid.

Seeing this, Khwaja Abu Ishaq said, “Only lovers should attend Sama, and you are indeed worthy!” The barakah (Blessings) of these blessed words removed all the veils from his eyes, so that nothing in heaven or earth was hidden from his vision. At this young age, whatever he prophesied came to pass, and the great people of his time showed tremendous respect towards him.

When Hazrat Abu Ahmad was twenty, he accompanied his father on a hunting expedition, only to find himself separated from the king’s party. It happened that he wandered onto a barren plain in front of a mountain, upon which he saw forty Auliya Allah standing in the presence of Khwaja Abu Ishaq r.a out of respect. Thus was the greatness of the master of Chisht emphatically revealed to him.

Immediately he alighted from his horse and kissed his feet. Then he put off his princely garb and donned the khirqah (woolen robe) of the Sufis.

The family of the sultan was distraught at this turn of events, and the king himself came to cajole, plead and eventually threaten his son to return; to no avail: Abu Ahmad Adbal r.a remained with his murshid and became a Sufi of the first spiritual rank. He used to remain engrossed in dhikr, regularly performing the continuous fast after the fashion of his murshid.

It is also reported that he used to complete the recitation of the Quran twice everyday. For seven continuous years, he never missed tahajud , and it was his practice that afterwards he used to make the following dua.

“Oh AllahQ Have mercy on your servants! Forgive the sinners from the Community of Rasulullah swm.” Thereafter, a voice used to say:” Oh Abu Ahmad! We have accepted your dua and through it have forgiven ten thousand sinners. On the Day of Qiyamah , they will enter Paradise with you.”

It happened that his father has a large winery wherein he used to store all his liquor. One day Khwaja Abu Ahmad r.a returned to this place and destroyed all the wine-stocks. When the sultan saw this, he became enraged and hurled a large rock at the saint. However, by the power of Allah it was suspended in the mid-air, injuring no-one. Awed by this miracle, the sultan immediately asked forgiveness from Allah and became a disciple of his son.

Once he was founded by a group of infidels whose hatred of Muslims was so intense that they used to burn alive any that they captured. When they taunted him as to his fate, he replied serenely,

” The Holy Prophet r.a has said that fire cannot burn one in whose heart there is true faith.”

To prove his point, as he approached the blaze, he willingly laid down his musallah (Prayer Mat)  and calmly entered the fire. When the Kuffar saw that the fire did not burn the great saint, they immediately repented and converted en masses.

TAJ-UL-AWLIYA, KHWAJA-E-KHWAJEGAAN, HAZRAT KHWAJA ABU IS`HAAQ CHISHTY SHAAMI (RADI ALLAHU ANHU)
The Crown of the Awliya, Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chishty (Radi Allahu Anhu) was a great sufi mystic of his era and is also the founder of the Chistiya Silsila. He was born in Syria, and spent his early life there. He lived in the era of the following Mashaa`ikh, who were his contemporaries, viz. Hazrat Abu Bakr Shibli (Radi Allahu Anhu), Khwaja Hasan bin Mansur Hallaj (Radi Allahu Anhu), Khwaja Abul Abbas ibn `Ata (Radi Allahu Anhu).
When he desired to become a mureed of Hazrat Khwaja Mamshaad Uloowe Dinwar (Radi Allahu Anhu)), he made Istighara for a period of fourty days. Thereafter, a voice from the unseen said to him,

“O Abu Is`haaq! Mamshaad Uloowe Dinwari is Our Friend. You should go and become his mureed and serve him dutifully.”

Upon receiving these instructions, he left Syria, and traveled to Baghdad, and humbled himself in the presence of the great Wali, Hazrat Mamshaah Uloowe Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu). Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chisti (Radi Allahu Anhu) kissed the feet of the Master, and made known to him his intentions of becoming his mureed, upon which Hazrat Mamshaad Uloowe Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu)) said to him:
“O Young Man! The way of the durwesh is very difficult, but whoever becomes a durwesh, he becomes a Friend of Allah and His Rasool (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam), and he become acquainted with the Divine Secrets of Allah.”
Abu Is`haaq Chisti (Radi Allahu Anhu) replied:

“This devotee has presented himself in your service. I have firm faith that with the Master’s blessings, I will become a perfect durwesh.”

Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu) placed a cap on the head of Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu), and said to him:

“I have made dua to Allah that he make you a perfect durwesh.”

Thereafter, he was initiated as a mureed.
After becoming mureed, Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu) requested to know his name. Hazrat Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) said to him:
“I am Abu Is`haaq Shami (Syrian)!”

Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu) said to him:
“From this day on, you will be known as Abu Is`haaq Chishty, and you should go to Chisht in Afghanistan, and spread the teachings of our Grand Masters, by which the people of that area will benefit, and whoever enters your Silsila until the Day of Qayamat will be called Chishty.”

He was amongst the Masha’ikh who loved the listening of Sama, and the ulema of his era did not oppose his mehfil-e-sama. He allowed the listening of sama under very strict conditions, and whoever attended his sama gatherings never turned towards sin ever again, and became conscious of Allah and pious. He never allowed the wealthy and wordly people into his sama gatherings, and if they entered without his permission, they were inflicted with some sickness.
Once, the country experienced a very severe drought. The ruler of the country approached Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) to make dua for rain. The Great Khwaja requested the ruler to arrange a mehfil-e-sama for him, and assured the ruler that, when in the mehfil-e-sama he (Khwaja Abu Is`haaq) begins to cry, it will rain. The ruler immediately arranged a mehfil-e-sama, but was instructed by Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) to leave the gathering. The ruler humbled himself, and pleaded with Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) to allow him to remain, but the Great Khwaja said to him:

“If you remain in this gathering, I would not receive that, which I am desirous of. You sitting in this gathering is not correct, so you should return to your home.”

The ruler returned to his home, and the mehfil-e-sama began. During the sama, Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) entered into a spiritual state and began crying, when miraculously, it began to rain, relieving the country of its severe drought.
Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) said:

“Faqr is path of the Friends of Allah, and whichever durwesh followed this path, reached some elevated spiritual stage. All the Awliya and Ambiya followed this path, and always considered following it a very noble act.”

He also said:

“In hunger, one will find the secrets of Allah hidden. Whenever Allah wills to bestow upon a person some of His Secrets, He gives him the ability to stay hungry, because in this state, one has complete trust (tawakkul) in Allah.”

Once, Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwari (Radi Allahu Anhu) requested to one of his mureeds to summon Hazrat Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) into his presence. When Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) presented and humbled himself in front of his Murshid, Hazrat Mamshaad Dinwaari (Radi Allahu Anhu) said to him:

“O Abu Is`haaq! You are my son, and I have very high regard for you. I nominate you as my successor, and instruct you to spread my teachings and the name of our glorious Masha’ikh.”

He also advised him saying:

“Always conduct yourself well with the people, and love the poor more than the wealthy.”

When Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chisti (Radi Allahu Anhu) wore the cloak of succession (khilafat), a voice from the unseen said:

“Congratulations upon you, O Abu Is`haaq, on your wearing of the blessed mantle.”

Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) began crying intensely. He was then asked the reason for his crying. He replied:
“All the veils have been removed from my eyes, and I see everything from the Arsh up to the Abyss, but my desire is not for the Arsh, but for the Lord of the Arsh.”
Before Khwaja Abu Is`haaq Chishty (Radi Allahu Anhu) passed away, he bestowed the khilafat of the Chistiya Silsila upon his beloved mureed, Khwaja Abu Ahmed Chisti (Radi Allahu Anhu). Hazrat Khwaja Abu Is`haaq (Radi Allahu Anhu) passed away on the 14 Rabi-ul-Akhir, and his mazaar is in Chisht in Afghanistan.
